Archiving Customers
Archiving a customer is the process of securely storing inactive customer data that is currently not needed. This is done when the data is no longer used or when a customer is no longer active, out of business or other reason.
- The customer is not deleted and can be restored to Active status at any time.
- Order history is also kept in an archived state.
- A customer will be re-activated automatically if that customer logs in to your store front.
How to Archive a customer:
From your admin go to the "Sales" menu then select the "Customers" options.
From the list of customers select the customer you would like to archive.
Look for the "Archive Customer" option and change from "Active" to "Archived".
The customer will no longer show up in your list of customers.
In order to see all Archived customers my selecting the Customer Type to "Archived".
